Instagram Shuts Down Rob Kardashian for Posting “Revenge Porn” Against Blac Chyna

PAVE: “We need to educate our teens about consent, respect and healthy relationships”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Instagram shut down Rob Kardashian’s page Wednesday afternoon for posting revenge porn against Blac Chyna. Following the IG shutdown, Kardashian tweeted, “Since Instagram shut me down everyone peep my twitter lol” and then proceeded to tweet the same nudes of Chyna. Kardashian’s destructive social media frenzy against Chyna is allegedly because he caught her cheating. As of Wednesday afternoon, both social media platforms have removed all of the NSFW images of Chyna.

Angela Rose executive director of PAVE (Promoting Awareness | Victim Empowerment) and leader of the PAVEHollywood initiative to educate members of the entertainment industry to shatter the silence and prevent sexual violence, has issued the following statement:

“Rob Kardashian’s behavior of posting nude photos of Chyna without her consent is classic revenge porn. Being unfaithful merits no justification for this. Even though these images have been deleted from his personal account, it is virtually impossible to ensure that they are deleted from all of cyberspace and this can have a devastating effect on her longterm.”

Rose adds, “Many young people look up to reality television stars and this unhealthy and bullying behavior can have very devastating consequences. All too often in our work with high school students across the US, we hear about teenagers posting or sharing nude images without consent and this can lead to a prosecutable federal offense. We need to educate our teens about consent, respect and healthy relationships.”

TMZ is already reporting that it’s unlikely Kardashian will be prosecuted under California’s revenge porn law, because prosecutors must show the victim suffered emotional distress – which will be almost impossible to do since Chyna “liked” the photos on Instagram.

PAVEHollywood works to stop sexual violence and victim shaming in Hollywood. Last year, PAVE also organized the campaign to revoke Bill Cosby’s Medal of Freedom with a White House petition that was addressed directly by President Obama.
